The Presidents Cup, after an incredible comeback by Tiger Woods and his team on Sunday Singles, is over. Let’s look ahead to see what is next on the PGA Tour.
It was an incredible comeback by Team USA at the Presidents Cup. Hopefully, it is enough for those who solely focus on the PGA Tour to stay satiated for a while as we enter the holiday season.
It’s going to be a while before we see any other events on the PGA Tour side of things. The Tournament of Champions takes place the first weekend in January and will be followed by the Sony Open the next weekend. The Tournament of Champions is, as it sounds, a smaller tournament. The Sony Open will be full field though, meaning we have a few weeks to go until we are really back into the swing of it.
That doesn’t mean there isn’t anything going on though. The Australian PGA Championship is happening this week, and there is quite the impressive storyline to keep an eye on if you are looking for that golf fix, or looking to catch some golfers that you might normally not see.

Cameron Smith is the home favorite and will be looking to take home his third straight win at the event. He won back in the 2018 season, although it happened in 2017, to earn his first European Tour win. He liked it so much that he decided to do it again last year. He heads back to the event at RACV Royal Pines Resort in Queensland looking to do what few people have done throughout golf history, winning the same event three years in a row.
This is the final week of the Euro Tour, as they will take a break throughout the holidays as well. They pick back up the week of January 9th for the South African Open.
For those looking for something to take up some of their time in between the Australian PGA Championship and the Tournament of Champions, I would say enjoy the break. Spend time enjoying the holidays. If you can’t, and truly need that golf fix, we do still have some stuff to help you out.
All throughout the holidays, we will be coming out with the best of the decade’s articles. From golfers, majors, performances, and all manner of golf-related events. We will have articles out each day recapping the top performances from the decade. We’ve already had the Best Players in Majors and the Best Major Performances.
If that doesn’t quite do it for you, and you are trying to get in some last-minute shopping, we’ve got that covered too, thanks to our 2019 Holiday Golfers Gift Guide.
2019 and by extension, the decade, may be over. The 2020 golf season is well underway now, and the remainder of the season should be an incredible one.
