The reigning ISPS Handa Vic Open champion is Scotland’s David Law, and he comes in at 9th on the ProGolfNow Power Rankings for his return to the scene of his victory.

The win was his first on the European Tour, and it came in just the fifth event of his first full season on the European Tour, having spent the past seven seasons playing on the Challenge Tour.

The Scot took the victory in Geelong twelve months ago thanks to an eagle on the 72nd hole of the tournament, which fired him a shot clear of the field to take his maiden European Tour title.

Since then, Law has struggled on the Tour, with a number of missed cuts, and just two top 20 finishes across 28 tournaments. He came home in T14 at the Trophee Hassan II before a T13 result five weeks later at the Belgian Knockout.

Following those two solid results in the early part of 2019, the Scotsman has failed to finish inside the top 40, but a return to the scene of his maiden victory on the European Tour could be the spark the Scotsman needs to return to form.

He finished inside the top 50 in Dubai two weeks ago and will be hoping to improve on his current 97th placing in the Race to Dubai leaderboard this week.
