This week, the PGA Tour shifts to the state of Texas for the Houston Open. Let’s take a look at this event from a fantasy golf perspective!

Before I dive into my fantasy golf player selections let’s take a quick look at the golf course the field will play this week.

The Houston Open will be played at Memorial Park Golf Course. The golf course is a par 71 that measures 7,432 yards. This track features five par five holes, wide fairways, and rather large greens. Water is in play on only four holes. It has been well over 50 years since the Houston Open was played at Memorial Park.

Now let’s turn our attention to what I love doing the most! Here are my Draftkings/fantasy golf player selections for the Houston Open!

Lanto Griffin $8,900

The defending champion of the Houston Open will defend his title at Memorial Park this week. It should be noted that Griffin arrives in Houston in good form. In his last six events played on the PGA Tour, Griffin has four top 18 finishes, including an 11th place result at the ZOZO Championship @ Sherwood two weeks ago.

Doc Redman $8,800

In my opinion, the former Clemson Tiger is on the verge of winning his first event on the PGA Tour. After all, the best predictor of a golfer’s future performance is past performance. Redman has three top four finishes in his last six events on the PGA Tour, including a fourth place result at last week’s Bermuda championship.

Corey Conners $8,700

The Canadian finished eighth at the ZOZO Championship @ Sherwood. Conners also won the the 2019 Valero Texas Open.

Zach Johnson $8,600

The two time major champion has three consecutive top 23 finishes on the PGA Tour, including an eighth place result at the U.S. Open.

In relation to this week’s current listed Houston Open field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Johnson ranks first in bogey avoidance, second in GIR (greens in regulation), fifth in strokes gained putting, and sixth in strokes gained approach.

Lee Westwood $7,800

The 47 year old Englishman plays the majority of his events on the European Tour. However, Westwood has arrived in Texas to utilize the Houston Open as preparation for the Masters next week. Having stated that, I think Westwood has a chance to play well at Memorial Park.

In his last eight events played (PGA and European Tours combined), Westwood has six top 17 finishes, including a 13th place result at the U.S. Open.

James Hahn $8,000

The 38 year old American arrives at this week’s Houston Open on the heels of three consecutive top nine finishes on the PGA Tour, including a fifth place result at the Shriners Hospitals For Children Open last month.

Next. Tony Finau Being Sued for Nearly $16 million. dark

John Huh $6,300

The American is currently playing on a major medical exemption which only allows him to play a specific number of events on the PGA Tour. Huh appears to be making the most of his opportunity. Huh finished 19th at the Shriners Hospitals For Children Open in his last start on the PGA Tour last month.

As always, good luck!
