The race for the FedEx Cup playoffs is nearly over but several spots have not yet been determined. At the Wyndham Championship this week, the final spots in the postseason will be secured.

There are a number of players on the bubble to get into the playoffs. We will break down those players this week as we look at the PGA Tour Bubble Boys.

Rickie Fowler enters the Wyndham Championship with some work to do. He’s currently in 130th place in the FedEx Cup standings with just one event remaining prior to the postseason.

Fowler has made 23 starts this season and has made 15 cuts. Out of those 15, Fowler has finished in the Top 25 on five occasions.

He has just one Top 10 finish this season. That came at the PGA Championship in May. Two weeks later, Fowler finished T11 at the Memorial Tournament. It looked like he was making a turn in a positive direction.

But since then, things have not been great for Fowler.

He missed the cut at the Travelers Championship after shooting a 75 on Friday. But the following week, he finished T32 at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.

Fowler made the cut at the Open Championship, then had an adventure on the weekend. He shot 75 on Saturday to fall well off the pace. But he rebounded nicely on Sunday, shooting a 65 to climb into a tie for 53rd place.

At the 3M Open, Fowler fired a first-round 64 but could not do anything after that. Three rounds in the 70s left him in a tie for 34th place.

Fowler’s worst finish in the FedEx Cup standings came last season, when he was 94th. Prior to that, he had never finished worse than 43rd. Unless he does something really special this week, he’ll likely record his worst finish and he could very well miss the postseason.
