The Presidents Cup has come and gone, with the United States once again taking home the victory. That means we are heading into the fall schedule of the PGA Tour season, which means plenty of opportunities to place some bets. This week's event is the Sanderson Farms Championship in Mississippi.

The Course - Country Club of Jackson, Mississippi

The Country Club of Jackson, Mississippi, has been the course of choice for this event for almost a decade now. It is a Par 72, at just over 7200 yards, which has plenty of risk-reward holes for the players to take advantage of over the four days. Jackson, Mississippi, has also provided plenty of great moments and champions over the years. We have seen winners here like Sergio Garcia, Sebastian Munoz, Nick Taylor, and Sam Burns. So plenty of quality talent has won here before, and plenty of talent is in this field once again. So what do players need to do to find success?

Par 5 scoring will be at a premium, given there are only three on the course. With two of them being 580 yards or longer, that also means making eagles requires two fantastic shots to get there. So finding players that make plenty of Par 5 birdies is certainly something to target this week. Also look for solid mid-to-long iron players, as most of the Par 3's are longer, and some of the Par 4's have some teeth to them, like the 490-yard 18th hole. If you see ball strikers that hit plenty of greens, this is the event for them to thrive and get out to a hot start to the fall campaign.

Sanderson Farms Championship Picks For Winner, Top 10, Top 20 & Top 40

Winner Pick For The Sanderson Farms (0.2 Units): Ben Griffin (+3300)

Our first official winner play for the season is Benjamin Griffin, the North Carolina product. He is up to the top 70 in the world, and finished second here last year, losing in a five-man playoff. He was also T24 here back in 2022 and had four top-10 finishes last season, including a T7 at the Wyndham Championship. Now Ben has never won on the PGA Tour, only on the Canadian Tour, but he has been building momentum over the past year. With Ben you are getting a guy that hits a ton of greens, and is above-average in strokes gained total, so love the value here for him to get his first PGA Tour victory.

Top 10 Pick For The Sanderson Farms (0.4 Units): Mackenzie Hughes (+225)

The lone Presidents Cup participant in the field is our second play for the week. Hughes, who played quite well in Montreal, unfortunately, ran into some teams playing great golf and finished 1-3-0. Now he heads to the event that he won at in 2022 for his second PGA Tour victory. Now Mackenzie did miss the cut here last year, but his current play is what has us believing in a strong finish. Even outside of his Presidents Cup play, the event prior at the Procore Championship, Hughes finished in the top five. Strong play in the fall is tough to come by at times, but not with Mackenzie.

Top 20 Pick For The Sanderson Farms (0.5 Units): Nick Dunlap (+130)

One of the best stories of the 2023/24 season was Nick Dunlap bursting onto the scene. Winning a PGA Tour event as an amateur is almost unheard of, and now he has turned pro and is playing great. Nick won the Barracuda Championship in July, then followed that up with a T5 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship in August. Now we are a couple months later, but he has a proven track record and has the most tour success in the last 12 months in this field. Really debated him being our top 10 pick, but top 20 still being plus money is incredible value.

Top 40 Pick For The Sanderson Farms (1 Unit): Patton Kizzire (+110)

Patton Kizzire to finish in the top 40 has been a favorite bet of ours in recent years, especially given he is often plus money to do so. He finished 70th in the FedEx Cup standings last season and won at the Procore Championship last month. The key for Patton is to get through the first two days, as he is often a missed-cut guy. So the gamble is knowing he could either not make the weekend altogether, or could vault up the leaderboard on Saturday and finish comfortably inside the top 40. What we do know is that Kizzire is a top-ten player in both hitting greens in regulation and proximity to the hole. Both are statistics that we love this week and feel will lead to profit.
