Sony Open in Hawaii tee times, format, field, purse, how to watch
The PGA Tour remains in Hawaii this week for the second event of the new season, the 2025 Sony Open in Hawaii. With the first signature event of the season officially in the books, players on the outside of the big events looking in will now enter the fray as they look to secure a spot in the next signature event at Pebble Beach at the end of the month via the Aon Swing 5.
The first full-field event of 2025 will welcome 144 players to the historic Waialae Country Club in Honolulu, Hawaii. Coming off of his record-breaking victory at The Sentry last week, 2022 Sony Open champion Hideki Matsuyama headlines this year's field at Waialae. Other notables who are set to tee it up in the first full-field event of the season include last year's runner-ups at the Sony Open, Keegan Bradley and Byeong Hun An, Sahith Theegala, Corey Conners, and Tom Kim who will make his first start since a runner-up finish in his last start at the Hero World Challenge last month. Following the devastating news of his passing last summer, defending champion Grayson Murray will be fondly remembered by all involved this week at the first Sony Open since his tragic passing.
With a large portion of the field making their season debut and a host of big names in attendance, this year's Sony Open in Hawaii marks the first of three regular-season events for players to accumulate valuable FedEx Cup points via the Aon Swing 5. The race to the year's next signature event at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am begins this week. Let's dive into all of the information to know ahead of this year's Sony Open in Hawaii including tee times, this year's field, the prize purse at Waialae, how to watch all of the action, and more.
