The 2025 Texas Children's Houston Open marks the first of two stops for the PGA Tour in the Lone Star State on the road to The Masters.

Memorial Park, a municipal course in Houston, resumed hosting duties after decades in 2020 and has been viewed by most as a perfect venue for players looking to fine-tune their games ahead of the year's first major.

With Augusta on the near horizon, this year's Houston Open once again attracted a significantly strong field headlined by two of the world's top-ranked players, Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy.

Scottie Scheffler returned after narrowly missing out on claiming what would have been a third consecutive PGA Tour win this time last season.

Winless so far in 2025, the world No.1 looked to be in prime position to notch his first victory of the season after 36 holes without a blemish on the scorecard. However, a 1-under 69 on Moving Day would see the two-time major winner relinquish his lead.

Instead, it was Min Woo Lee who found himself at the top of the leaderboard going into the final round. An exceptional 7-under 63 during the third round meant the Australian, still in search of his first PGA Tour win, would take a comfortable four-shot lead into the final 18 holes.

But with a logjam of chasers in pursuit, including Scheffler, Lee would need to keep his foot on the pedal during a final round that was poised to deliver another exciting finish.

Of course, in addition to the Texas Children's Houston Open title, all of the contenders were vying for a significant winner's share of this year's prize purse at Memorial Park. Let's take a look at the total prize purse, winner's share, and complete payout distribution by finishing position.

Texas Children's Houston Open purse 2025: Total purse, winner's prize money

The purse for this year's Texas Children's Houston Open is set at $9.5 million, with the champion at Memorial Park set to take home a $1.71 million winner's share.

This is a slight increase from the $9.1 million purse divvied out at last year's event. While these figures obviously pale in comparison to the massive amounts at Signature Events and majors, the prize money at the Texas Children's Houston Open actually ranks on the higher end among regular PGA Tour events this season.

Unlike last week at the Valspar Championship, the top two finishers at Memorial Park will take home seven figures, while each of the top 10 finishers will clear $250,000 in prize money.

Additionally, the top 22 finishers will all earn at least six figures for their efforts. In addition to a sizeable share of the prize purse, the winner of the Texas Children's Houston Open will earn 500 FedEx Cup points.
