2025 Texas Children's Houston Open: Betting odds and favorites at Memorial Park

It's Scottie, Rory, and then everyone else at the Houston Open this week.

With the Florida Swing at an end following Viktor Hovland's victory at the Valspar Championship, the PGA Tour now heads to the Lone Star State for two weeks as the ramp-up to The Masters continues with the Texas Children's Houston Open.

While 20 of the top 50 players in the world are in the 156-man field at Memorial Park this week, the main focus is on only two, those naturally being world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and second-ranked Rory McIlroy.

Coming off a historic nine-win season, Scheffler has yet to record a win in 2025 but has finished in the top 25 in each of his five starts.

And he has a strong history at the Houston Open, finishing ninth or better in each of his last three starts, including a pair of runner-ups. So, that could very well be why Scheffler enters the week as the betting favorite at +350.

But that may come as a shock to some, given the way McIlroy has played this season.

After opening his year with a T4 at the DP World Tour's Dubai Desert Classic, Rory hasn't finished lower than 17th in his four PGA Tour starts and already owns two victories, winning the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and The Players Championship.

This week marks McIlroy's first appearance in Houston since 2014 and his first trip to Memorial Park. Rory owns the second-shortest odds at +650.

There's a lot of separation from there, as the third-shortest odds belong to Aaron Rai (+2800), who's tied for seventh here in each of his last two starts.

Up next at +3000 is the trio of Wyndham Clark, J.J. Spaun, and 2022 winner Tony Finau. Defending champion Stephan Jaeger is tied for the 13th-shortest odds at +4500.
