LPGA: Top-10 Race to the CME Globe Contenders
It’s just a question of luck and self-confidence for Stacy Lewis.
At this point, with Stacy Lewis not in the Lorena Ochoa field, much depends on Sei Young Kim’s performance. Kim could pass Lewis in the Globe points standing with a win or a high finish in Mexico City.

Still, Stacy Lewis is a golfer I never rule out. She’s kept herself at 3rd in the Roles Rankings, the Race to the CME Globe, the Tour’s Official Money list, Player of the Year, and scoring average without a win this season! That’s some consistently high-caliber golf Ms. Lewis has been playing. All she needs is a putt that lips in instead of out, a bounce in the right direction to break this pesky winless drought that plagues her.
I don’t know what Lewis is doing with her time this week while she’s sitting out the Lorena Ochoa but I hope she’s doing some serious work on her mental game. At this point, she’s been a bridesmaid six times and she has to be fighting that worst of all golf ailments, flagging self-confidence.
To win the Big Kahuna would go a long way toward putting this season to bed with the right twist for Lewis and I’m still thinking she has a better than average chance of doing just that.
