Updated 2025 Ryder Cup standings following Keegan Bradley's wild win at the Travelers

Keegan Bradley is going to have to give some serious thought to putting himself on his own U.S. Ryder Cup team after his win at the Travelers Championship.

While the 2025 Ryder Cup, scheduled for September 26-28 at Bethpage Black, is still roughly three months away, only about two months remain before the rosters are finalized.

For the United States, the last day for players to qualify for one of the six automatic spots is August 17, which marks the end of the BMW Championship, the second leg of the PGA Tour FedEx Cup Playoffs.

On the European side of things, the last day to automatically qualify comes a week later on August 24 at the conclusion of the DP World Tour's Betfred British Masters.

Once the automatic slots are filled, captains Keegan Bradley and Luke Donald will each add six captain's selections to their respective teams.

But while Donald will undoubtedly have some tough decisions to make, it's not even close to what Bradley has to deal with, as Captain Keegan now has to give some serious thought to adding himself to his own team after running down Tommy Fleetwood to win the Travelers Championship.

And with this new wrinkle, we'll kick things off on the American side of things as we take a look at the updated 2025 Ryder Cup standings.

Before we get to Bradley, it should be noted that Scottie Scheffler has already secured his spot at Bethpage, thus leaving five automatic slots for those behind him in the standings, which currently belong to Xander Schauffele, U.S. Open champ J.J. Spaun, Russell Henley, Bryson DeChambeau, and Justin Thomas.

Now, over the last few months, Bradley has seemed pretty adamant about not being on the team unless he qualified automatically. But as he's now the seventh-ranked player in the world, the highest OWGR standing of his career, and the ninth-ranked player on the U.S. Ryder Cup standings, up eight slots from a week ago, he's effectively being forced to change his stance.

"This changes the story a little bit," Bradley said after his win at the Travelers. "I never would have thought about playing if I hadn't won. This definitely opens the door to play. I don't know if I'm going to do it or not, but I certainly have to take a pretty hard look at what's best for the team."

Many aren't keen on the idea of a playing captain, but Bradley confirmed that's what he would be if he does end up teeing it up, as he has no plans to hand the role to one of his vice captains, those being Jim Furyk, Kevin Kisner, Webb Simpson, and Brandt Snedeker.

With three finishes of eighth or better in his last four starts, Bradley is obviously playing some tremendous golf right now. And if he truly believes he can help the U.S. reclaim the Ryder Cup trophy, you can bet his name will be on that final roster come August.

Here's how the top 20 shakes out for the United States.

European Ryder Cup standings

Like the U.S., the European team already has one player locked in, that being Rory McIlroy, who had a solid week at the Travelers, tying for sixth.

And despite failing yet again to capture his first PGA Tour victory, Fleetwood vaulted from seventh to second in the standings with his T2 at the Travelers, and he and McIlroy are currently joined in the top six by Tyrrell Hatton, Robert MacIntyre, Shane Lowry, and Sepp Straka.

Here's a look at the top 20 in the European Ryder Cup standings.
